Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition Park is abbreviated as Qingdao Expo Park. It is affiliated to Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition Park (Group) Co. , Ltd. It opened as a State-level 4A Scenic Area on March 28, 2015. The tourist area is located in the northwest of Laoshan Mountain, surrounded by mountains on three sides, and faces coastal highway on the east, a 10-minute drive from the seaside. Covering an area of ​​about 187 hectares, the scenic area consists of two axes and six gardens with a vegetation coverage rate of 71%.
     Qingdao World Expo Park has won the gold prize for World Design and Construction Award, the International Park Tourism Awards Best Exhibition Award from AIPH (International Association of Horticultural Producers), top award Luban Award for the China Construction Engineering Award, top award Zhan Tianyou Award for the China Civil Engineering Award, National Quality Project Awards and other significant awards, and have been identified as the country's first ecological culture demonstration base, the Shandong Provincial Cross-Strait Cultural Exchange Base. In January 2016, the Expo Park Eco-tourism Zone, with the Qingdao Expo Park Scenic Spot as a core, was approved as the first sample area of national ecotourism in Qingdao. The architectural and horticultural planning of the Qingdao Expo Park is designed by masters. The colorful flowers, plants and vivid topiary plants are scattered proportionally. The colors change with the seasons and are full of natural interest. 100 domestic and international featured exhibition gardens have demonstrated the quintessence of horticultural culture. More than 1,700 new, exotic and rare plants make the scenic spot a truly botanical kingdom.      The Botanical Pavilion is divided into the Temperate Plants Section, Warm-temperate Plants Section, the Bamboo and Rattan Section and the Marine Plants Section.There are more than 800 exotic plants in the Botanical Pavilion.
